I was really excited about Iggy's Texatarian because the thought of vegan food that wasn't all "healthy" was really appealing and uncommon. The ladies who started the trailer really have a unique concept. As they write, they blend "traditional Texas culture with progressive dietary choices," and they do just that. However, it's just not as good as the real thing. It was a great night though and I think we all appreciated trying something new. Also, the little food trailer park it was in on E 6th gave us ideas for future meet-ups.

  1. Vegan scared me from the moment I heard about it but I was surprisingly happy! I got fried pickles and frito pie and it was spectacular! The fake cheese was delicious as well as tofu meat - I had no idea it would be so good! I was very satisfied with the experience.

As a vegetarian, I enjoyed this cart and the buffalo wings. Plus - there is a bathroom in the bar next door!

I'm a texture kind of girl, so I couldn't stand the chicken wings. Although, the fried pickles were pretty awesome. Awesome people!

I didn't know the chili mac had no cheese, which was a little disappointing. I am picky about fried pickles and they were okay. Nice hang out spot, but more drunk food than foodie food.

What I liked best about Iggy's Texatarian is that it's all vegan and they make actual "real food". Southern food is great but when its meatless its so much better. The frito pie needed more meat/beans stuff, but the nachos and buffalo wings were great. Really liked the atmosphere and Cheer Up Charlies next door has great beer specials. I would probably come back.

I love the concept, but not the food. We ordered cowboi nachos and they were just okay. Then nachos with the good stuff on them were soggy. I was excited for the chili mac, but I didn't know it would have no cheese! Also it wasn't (temperature) hot. Also, I have super high standards for fried pickles, and I wouldn't' order theirs again. Friendly service, though, and nice sitting area, and access to a bar (with a bathroom).

I liked the area. Parking was not a problem but on a busy night I could see it possibly being an issue. Walked up to Iggy's and liked the selection. I stuck with the chili and chip options. Cowboy nachos/frito pie and buffalo wings. Ordered the wings spicy. They could have been a little hotter and the frito pie a little less frito-ey, but for 100% vegan food it had lots of flavor and I will be back. Pros: next to bar/cool location/great food/BYOB. Cons: They could have been a little friendlier and had more seating. Plus heaters would have been awesome.

    (Review of Lucky J's)
Great place to eat that's cheap and fairly quick. Everything tastes wonderful and the waffles are soft and delicious.

Tonight we find ourselves on E 6th. Loads of space in a big lot. $1 beer for happy hour (Cheer up Charlie's). Good chili mac that you need to ask for cheese and need to spice it up (Iggy's Texatarian). The Binh Mah was enjoyably (Meso Hungry). For dessert there is a waffle, banana, peanut butter and nutella with honey (Lucky J's). To die for!
