The second meetup for foodie food carts was another success. The food that we ate at odd duck was definitely different and adventurous but I think we all can say it was delicious. Before that night would I have though a soft boiled egg on grits would be good? NO! I wouldn't have been able to get past the soft boiled egg..... but it had us all going back for seconds and thirds. Also, quail! I am always intimidated by animals that I haven't eaten before but a lady in line said her baby ate it so I had to do it, and it tasted delish.
We also had a mini Gourdoughs preview which was exciting. We tried a few of the meat/donut options such as mother clucker (fried chicken on a donut) and also one that had bacon and pepper jelly on it (surprisingly good!). I can't wait until we hit it up full force later on!
OK if you're hungry and you're on South Lamar you're going to want to pass up the odd duck. Unless you're looking to spend around 20. But if you're looking for a delicious tapas option this is the place to be. The service was great. They dropped the food off, checked on us midway, and offered to grab our tray when we were finished. The food was fresh, local and amazing. 8:30 pm on a Friday night, packed lot, no seating and they were sold out. Seating is an issue so get here early, oh and the most important thing BYOB. With 3 bars a gas station and the Alamo a stones throw away this is the perfect place for a date/night out/or just a place to get some great food and a donut from the infamous Groudoughs.

I love love love the weird choices. Most of the menu items scared me (quail, boiled eggs), but surprisingly made me very very happy in my tummy! There was a long wait but only because this place is cray busy cuz it tasted amazing. The portions were small so you could try different things. I heard odd duck!
- Sarah
Odd duck is busy and a bit of a wait for food, but well worth it! My fav was the braised pork shoulder sandwich. Odd duck is like eating gourmet in your backyard.

Lots and lots of great flavor! Yum! Small portions which means you have to order two or three items per person. Very fresh tasting food the quail was wonderful. The pork was de-lish, corn was perfect. Needs more seating. Show up early, don't expect a "fast food" type dinner. BYOB, sit, hang-out with great company, take your time and enjoy!

Food was delicious. Atmosphere was awesome. Could have done without all the extra leafy garnish but overall everything was amazing. Nice to have restrooms located close to the eating area.

Let's see. The food was great. Particularly I liked the braised pork shoulder sandwich, surprisingly because I wouldn't usually eat pork. The veggie and corn side dishes were also great, mainly because they were chock full of feta cheese. Location is great but not enough seating for the massive a mounts of patrons. Very impressive.

The portions were small, but full of flavor. Everything was pretty inexpensive and easy to share. I also liked the large parking lots and many places to sit. The food was delicious, I'll definitely come back.
- Sara
The quail was fantastic! Very flavorful!

This is the best place ever! I though the sweet doughnuts were the best thing I had ever tasted, then I had the savory! The bacon, cream cheese with jalapeno jelly is tops! For sweet, mama's cake.

Gourdoughs changes the game for donuts. No other wll every compare. Creative, freshly made to order and sooo good. The mother clucker was perfect with the sweet doughnut flavor with the fried chicken. Just so yum. Also teh PB & J is like what I imagine PB & J's are like in heaven.
- Lisa
Um...holy cow, I don't even know what to do with this much donut...
- Sarah
Mmmm... Porkey's It was love at first sight!
- Curtis
Best doughnut I have ever had in my life. Crispy outside and fluffy inside. All the toppings complimented the doughnuts perfectly.
